The alleged mastermind of the October 1, 2010 independence day bombing in Nigeria’s Federal Capital Territory, Abuja, Charles Okah, caused a stare today, October 6, in court as he attempted to take his life.
According to Channels Television, Okah, who is standing trial for terrorism, described his trial as ‘endless’ due to his lawyer’s absence in court.
He informed the judge that he has been incarcerated for about five years now and he had a family to cater for, adding that his children would grow up without feeling the warmth of their father.
After he ended his emotional statement after speaking for about five minutes, Okah reached for a chair in the court and quickly moved towards a window.
However, he was overpowered by lawyers and other litigants who prevented him from breaking the louvers.
The suit was then adjourned by Justice Kolawole till October 20, 2015 when the trial will continue.
