So many times have heard the term "first time I set my eyes on him/her, I fell in Love". And I begin to ponder how is that even possible?
How do you fall head over in heels with a person you are seeing for the first time, without any previous meeting and butterflies are already galivanting in your belly ?.
I ask myself what did the individual fall in Love with. Is it the inner beauty you are yet to see? Charisma ? Or the fact that he or she says he has qualities, of which you are yet to verify whether it is true!.
Maybe it’s on the basis of religion. the God-fearing/ religious angle, remember it’s the first time you are meeting her. How do you even know she's religious or God-fearing, what if demons exist in her (just saying)
In my opinion, Most people fall in love with physical qualities of the individual and this "good feeling" at having all access to "all that beauty or gorgeousness" is sometimes misinterpreted as love.
Most Males would fall in love with the shape, lips and a lady's carriage .and say to themselves I'm in love with her already..
Some Females would say, The first time I set my eyes on his abs, I melted away and couldn't take my eyes off him, I want to be with him ..yada yada yad!!! "I laugh in Ibadan" truly you are in Lust at first sight not Love at first sight
Let's go nerdy for a while.Research has shown two bases for love at first sight. The first is that the attractiveness of a person can be very quickly determined, with the average time in one study being 0.13 seconds. The second is that the first few minutes, but not the first moment, of a relationship have shown to be predictive of the relationship's future success, more so than what two people have in common or whether they like each other (" like attracts like"). Infatuation, not to be confused with love at first sight, is the state of being carried away by an unreasoned passion or assumed Love. It was described as a desire to express the libidinous attraction of addictive Love, inspired with an intense but short-lived passion or admiration for someone. Research has actually proved that Love, at first sight, exists, which has led different relationship into marriages but just like the first case of love at first sight, A man or woman would be attracted to the opposite sex on the basis of what he/she physically sees in 0.13 seconds, not the inner beauty. This feeling is what can be regarded as lusting for the flesh.
So, after this stage ( Lusting for the flesh), the individual on getting to know the opposite sex better after spending quality time with them, might, fortunately, come to the conclusion that the person they are with is worth staying with for the rest of their lives. Then all the good things, charisma, inner beauty which you actually feel in Love will now manifest.
My believe here is that people fall in lust first cause of the sexually attraction they feel towards the opposite sex but get it mixed up with Love. If they kick-start the relationship and its going smooth, then the Lust can surely transit to Love.
Love at first sight, what do you think?
