US to admit more refugees in 2016

The United States could admit more refugees in 2016 than it originally planned, US State Department spokesperson John Kirby said in a press briefing on Wednesday.
Kirby said Secretary of State John Kerry has established a working group to address the refugee crisis in Europe.
In August, the State Department said the United States plans to admit up to 8,000 Syrian refuges in fiscal year 2016 that lasts from October to September.Kirby also stated that settlement is only one option in dealing with the refugee crisis, but it often "is not always the best option" as many migrants prefer to return home.
