After officially announcing the demise of the Olu, The Warri Traditional council of chiefs announced Godfrey Ikenwoli Emiko (pictured left above) as the Olu-designate at Ode-Itsekiri in Warri in Delta State, Nigeria.
Chief Pessu,One of the members of the traditional council said the Itsekiri people(male and female) world wide will immediately proceed on a three months mourning period and as part of the mourning activities, they will be expected to wear their clothes inside-out; that is to tie their traditional wrappers upside down and according to him, "There will be No party, no drumming or merriment of any sort in Itsekiri land, until the burial is over and new Olu installed” he said.
