A blind gamer has completed The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time - nearly five years after starting the Nintendo classic.
Terry Garrett began his playthrough of Ocarina of Time on 8th May 2011 with the beginning of a YouTube series designed to show he was capable of completing 3D games as well as 2D games.
Garrett, who studied engineering at the University of Colorado, uses in-game sounds to help navigate the virtual environments. Left and right-hand speakers placed directly in front of him signal where sounds such as those made by Link's fairy companion Navi, nearby enemies and weapons striking walls, come from. Playing an emulated version of Ocarina of Time, Garrett uses save stats for quick trial and error progression.
