Video : Bomb goes off while young Syrian girl was singing

A distressing video has captured the moment a young Syrian girl is singing happily to her mother - before a bomb suddenly explodes outside her home.

It is the latest harrowing image from Syria after a young boy pictured in an ambulance has become a symbol of the horror of the country's civil war.

In the clip, the little girl appears to be sitting on a chair while singing a tune to her mother, who seems to be holding the camera.

But towards the end of the footage, a bomb suddenly explodes, rocking the building and distorting the camera's image.

Immediately, the mother jumps up and grabs the child, carrying her into another room.

It is not clear what happened to the family.
